Laterite nickel deposits are distributed in tropical countries within 30 degrees of the equator line in the world, and are mainly distributed in the tropical and subtropical regions around the Pacific Ocean, mainly including Cuba and Brazil in the Americas, Indonesia and the Philippines in Southeast Asia, Australia, New Caledonia, New Caledonia, Australia, etc Papua New Guinea, etc. In China, 70% of nickel reserves are concentrated in Gansu Province, followed by Xinjiang, Yunnan, Jilin, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Qinghai and Hubei provinces, accounting for 27% of the total nickel reserves in China.

The rotary kiln of laterite nickel mine in rotary kiln series equipment is composed of barrel, rotating device, supporting device of supporting wheel and retaining wheel, kiln lining, kiln tail, kiln seal, kiln head cover and fuel device. The kiln shell is a heated rotary part, which is made of high-quality carbon steel plate. The cylinder is supported on the supporting rotating device through the wheel belt, and the mechanical or hydraulic stop wheel is set on one or several supporting devices to control the axial movement of the cylinder. The transmission device makes the cylinder rotate according to the process requirements through the gear ring located in the middle of the cylinder body. Due to the needs of installation and maintenance, the kiln shell can be rotated according to the process requirements, The rotary kiln is provided with an auxiliary device to prevent the dust from entering the kiln body and the rotary kiln tail body, and the rotary kiln body is provided with an auxiliary device to prevent the dust from entering into the kiln body at the rotary kiln end.

The main advantages of laterite nickel rotary kiln are as follows:

3. The high nickel ferronickel produced has high quality (about 20% Ni2) and can be directly used as stainless steel production material.  
At the same time, it can be used as the coolant for molten steel melting.  
Process method of rotary kiln for laterite nickel ore:
The pretreatment step is to grind the raw laterite nickel ore, mix it with carbon bearing material and flux limestone, and then continuously feed it into the laterite nickel rotary kiln. When the sintered material frit comes out of the laterite nickel ore rotary kiln, it is crushed with water, and then the reduced ferronickel alloy is separated from the discharged frit by gravity separation and magnetic separator. The separated ferronickel particles are sand like particles with a diameter of 2-3 mm and 1-2% slag. The chemical composition of the separated ferronickel is c0.1%, ni18-22%, s0.45%, p0.015%.
